This version makes problems with the server.
I was warned by the hosting team that it heavily overloads the database.

I must disable it until I find an optimization.

Many of you use smartphones and tablets but some threads are too long for scrolling on these units.

I can reduce the number of replies per pages if you want?
Just give me a number (actually it is 50 posts per page): 30 or 20 or less...

Is there any way to set individual options for page length? Or must it be an admin setting?

Wrong assertion from me.

There is an option in the User CP panel
then scroll down and chose to edit the Thread Display Options
then Number of Posts to Show Per Page

Are there any known issues with Tapatalk. Since yesterday, my phone tells me that "Tapatalk plugin is not activated in your forum".

I'm having issues with Tapatalk again. It won't load any new threads. Anyone else having this problem?

Does this mean I can't use Tapatalk to access SomaSimple anymore? That would be a big bummer.

It's strange because I received the notice that you quoted my post above, but when I attempted to view the thread I got an error message. The error message contains the full URL for somasimple, and the "s" is not included after "http". So I think that is the problem. I'll try to reload the app and see what happens.

Tapatalk android users -

In the past, I had limited data available on my mobile plan/contract, so the data would be disabled on my phone most of the day, then if I landed near a wi-fi hotspot, I would turn it on quick to check the boards, then turn off again.

This worked well and when I logged in from my PC/laptop at home (where I do most of my interactions) I could always click on the the latest posts link at the home page of the boards to see what threads had new postings since my last visit. Then I could click the green upside-down arrow of each thread to take me to the first new post in each thread.

Now, with a bit more phone data to play with on my phone, I have been leaving my data active, so Tapatalk is always on and syncing - this means that when I sit down to the PC, all the latest posts are marked as already read because Tapatalk accessed them, but keithp the person has not. Additionally, if I don't check Tapatalk often enough, the 'latest posts' begin to disappear as well from the app as well (yes, I can find them in the timeline, but I really appreciate the ability to go the first new post without wading through a bunch of other old/new posts).

My (hopefully temporary) solution is to logoff from SS/tapatalk when not in use, but who wants to spend an extra 10 seconds to enter a password every time they want to come to the boards. Does anyone else have a similar experience? If so, what work-arounds have you employed? Ideally, I would set it up to only sync manually, but I am unable to figure out how to do that (if it is even possible).

Respectfully,
Keith

I never enter a password, Keith.
Just tick to be remembered the next time you log on in the top right corner. Very rarely, it asks you to log on, just to check you out in case you have metamorphised...

Thanks, Nari.

On my phone, there is no check-box to remember me when logging into SS via Tapatalk, so when I logout, I need to re-enter username and password.

Don't get me wrong - it is not a deal-breaker when using Tapatalk, just an inconvenience when trying to sort through what I have - and haven't - read...the 'jump to first new post' is one of the best feature of message boards, IMO. The way the app is designed (implemented on my end) removes the usefulness of that particular feature, is all.

ETA - figured out a solution to the sign-in/sign-out inconvenience. My Tapatalk email was different than the one I use for the forums. I switched it and they synced up. Now the boards are only a click away. I still sign out of Tapatalk between visits, but need not sign back into the boards, as was previously the case.

Respectfully,
Keith
