I have been asked to put all of my musical choices into one thread; in order to keep the "Latest posts" function uncluttered.
I've decided to start with a "relaxation / instrumental" category, for those who like that sort of thing.
C.O.( gender: ♀) - LMT, BS(Anatomy), DC Music Fog... pick a song to listen to... you can't go wrong. Need relaxation samples for your office? I have made a Deep Relaxation Massage Music Pandora Station and have others that may also be useful - about 8 massage music stations and about 49 other nifty options.
This weekend, I was exposed to an artist I never heard before and would be happy to share it with anyone who is looking for something simple, quiet and reflective.
"Alina" by Arvo Pärt (ECM Records, 1999) - sample on youTube for your listening pleasure. The entire CD is similar to the sample below.

I am not sure that every country allows for listening to Pandora (it is a free streaming radio that has commercials every so often - you can create your own stations and tweak them to a pretty close perfection sometimes, but it takes a few years to get them just so. I've been working on these in my list since about 2010 I think). However, I know you can listen in the US. So, if you have been wanting to create specific CD's of music, this is a good way to sample out and pick what may work best for your practice.
If you can't listen but can still access the files for the names of the songs I have given a "thumbs up" to, this would be another useful way to find names of artists and specific songs that relate to a specific genre.
Additionally, you can look at my profile tab on Pandora... and find other stations I have created and a few I am pulling music from to give a bump to some of my original stations. "Bump stations" as I like to call them, will eventually disappear.
I also have some other instrumental stations that may not necessarily be related to massage, but could be used for other bodywork. Those can be found under the "my profile" tab and are things like: Instrumental Cuban, Reggae Instrumental, Ragtime Radio (Inst.), Ambient Guitar/Folk, Exotica Jazz & Peace is Every Step.
If you are in a country where you can't listen, but are wanting some ideas, feel free to PM me and I'll pop you over a few artists names/songs to get you going.
Enjoy!

Here is a Jazz Holiday Playlist that someone may enjoy for their practice. It is slow enough to use in a bodywork practice, yet peppy enough to give you a little extra "something".
I have been working on this playlist for quite some time now and I feel like I have put the songs in a format that flows.
The links in the first section are to the song locations on youTube, in case you don't have Spotify, which is where I originally built my playlist (see bottom of this post for those links). I haven't checked to see if they are in iTunes yet, but that is my next place to go, as I plan to purchase them there and create a CD for my practice to use for my live test. If I remember, I'll try to get those links added too.

(link here is to Vince Guaraldi's version, as I can't locate the David Benoit version on youTube - but, it gives you an idea as to what you are looking for)
11. Charlie Brown Theme - Armani A. W.-Murray -3.39 (link here is to Vince Guaraldi's version, as I can't locate the David Benoit version on youTube - but, it gives you an idea as to what you are looking for)
12. O Christmas Tree - The Cool Yule All-Stars - 3.35

Adding this info here, since I typed it on another thread. It may be useful to someone in the future.
These are some of the CD's I've hung onto and used regularly over the years in my own private practice, that would be considered more "massage-y":
Garden of Serenity (the original one, not the Garden of Serenity II, one) - I've found this to be quite calming and usually use it for people who need to take it down a notch.
Desert Dreams - I picked this up in Big Bend, after an extended camping trip one year, and it has been a staple when I need to hear just a little bit of the desert to sooth my soul. Often I use it for new male clients and those who want to relax without too much froo froo background music.
Natural Stress Relief - this is a staple as it works with most all of my clients. It is broken up into four 15 min. segments, which are each just a bit different than the next.
Aromatherapy - this CD has a bit of an exotic flavor to it and I've re-mixed it to 60 mins. by re-using one song (as I recall. I've had it a lot of years, so I may have re-copied 2 in there). It is really beneficial if you happen to need a bit of a sound barrier to external noise factors around the space in which you work. Occasionally, I have been in a situation where the neighboors in my office building were doing some remodeling on the same day I was working. This has been good for covering that up a little bit.
Raindance - is another of those CD's that somewhat envelopes a session and can be used for blocking out extraneous noise without needing to "turn it up".
Adagio: Music for Healing - has a simple and asian-esque feel to it. I find it works with most all of my clients.
Language of Touch - this is an old CD I have had since the mid-'90's. I don't work with it regularly, but when I do, it is quite relaxing.
Musical Massage - Inside - this CD has some non-descript vocal background work on it, and although I usually only play music with vocals when a client brings their own music in (then it's usually lyrics). This particular CD is a staple in my office. I really like it.
Musical Massage - Synergy - I don't use this one so very often, but occasionally I find that I get into a groove and work well with it. When I do, I will end up keeping it in the CD player (6 CD changer) for a week or so.
Musical Massage - In Tune - this is another one I don't use often, but it's quite nice when I am looking for something just a little different.
Europa - for when you just need a change of pace and something a little brighter.
Path - this is one of those CD's that I don't use regularly, but (for me) it evokes the feeling of travelling though a distant (maybe Amazonian) rain forest. I have found times when this is the only CD that will really do.
Touch of Romance - I don't use this often, but occassionaly... it fits the bill.
First Snow - I picked this up back in the late '90's and I still have a few clients who only want this CD for their session. I have one client who brings her copy as backup, in case something might have happened to mine.
Caribbean Surf - I get washed away with most CD's that are nothing but waves and water. I need a little something - just a little. This CD does it for me. In the distance, way far away, you'll hear some occasional steel drums - just every once in a while. I think it happens twice, for about 5 minutes duration. I find it perfect for bodywork.
Alina (by Arvo Pärt) - I am not a big piano fan during massage. It can grate on my nerves. This is a CD I can work to. I tried to find samples of the CD previously and could only find this. Click here for your listening experience.
