    It's encouraging that there seems to be a lot of mainstream research going on in this area.

        Confusion is a solid way of arresting the mind, so it makes sense to see it work for pain (since chronic pain is a stuck collection of neurotags).

        Erickson pioneered the 'confusion induction' with his famous handshake.

        Zennists have their poetry, koans and other sayings to achieve the same effect: "Strike the midnight bell at noon".

        If I was to suddenly but then over the course of several... here... it makes sense to just relax now and really enjoy that. That's it. All the way down.
