  • The Tiger I

The Tiger is the sort of book that possesses me. In turn, I devour it. I listened to three interviews with the author, began listening to it read on audible, bought the book itself before I had heard it all and then filled it with red-penned lines.

I know. I’m not much fun.

But Vaillant’s use of metaphor is so compelling that the Amur region of Russia now feels familiar to me – and I’d never heard of it before.

Its connection to therapy is obvious; but, to me, everything’s about therapy.

    At first there’s this quote:

    no easy bargain
Would be made in that place by any man

    Beowulf
Sounds like a rehab department I worked in recently.

More about therapy in The Tiger tomorrow.
