Tapping is a technique that works. How does not really matter (see the related topic).
Use the hand closed and tap gently on the joint at 2/3 second. The technique must not be harmful, NEVER. It relieves some joint pain rapidly.
Works also on old arthritis pain.
Hi Bernared :
Is this like what we had discussed before on NOi , about neural tapping ?
cheers

We are talking about "Tapping" (vs. Taping), right?
RE: Tapping. There is a profound and comitted study and semianr by John Iams, who is a PT in the USA. His Primal Refelx Release Technology uses a lot of tapping to induce reciprocal inhibition and reflexive neuromuscular relaxation and resetting of normal tone.
I can't get to the specifics in his approach and am not allowed to teach it. If you are interested in his approach, I will give you his information (which I will post tomorrow), since I don't have it at hand now.
His work is exciting and fascinating and the results are fast and amazing, when our client's problems are due to influences of primal reflexes, such as nociceptive-startle and withdrawal relfexes.

Hi Takao & Bernard :
Bernard
of course you remember well ,how i have tried a lot to explain how tapping could be of benefit for treating neural tension , at the the condation of uing it very gently , but we were thinking unethically , with no evidence , we have to think of techniques evidenced-based.
Takao
thanks for links

Yes, John was on NOI for a while. I took two of his seminars and have observed and clinically experienced how powerful tapping can be.
It works primarily and reflexively on the neurological level. But the effect on the nervous system is global --- you will see immediate reduction in pain and muscle tone/tension, improved movement quality and increased speed, etc.

Is anyone familiar with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)?
Here is a general description: EFT is a technique that uses tapping on certain acupressure points and, when you combine it with focusing on a particular negative thought / problem (and accepting that you have the problem!), seems to release the negative emotion within that memory. It has now been used very successfully for the past 9 years and has bought amazing relief to countless different problems.
EFT was created by Gary Craig www.emofree.com.
Also visit: www.emotionalrepair.com
I just heard of its presence and don't know much about it.

Hi Takao,
The site you provided is enormous => many, many pages to read.
My first impression is that you can learn but have to pay!
The second is the technique is near the NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)?
Hi takao:
I had read before about using tapping using a hammer , finger over trigger point , but the emotional part of that technique is new for me :!:
Bernard
there is article in PDF around 87 pages on that website freely
Hi Bernard :
We were discussing scientifically, i hope we were discussing ethically . at least accepted officially, as i had printed that discussion and send it to
cheers

HI all
I might be a slow learner ,but how do you use tapping in clinical practis.
Please give me an clinical example!
RIN
RIN
Hi bernard!
Thanks!,but what do you use, finger ,reflex hammer etc?
If it can reduse "joint pain" it might be used for other pain conditions?(physical-emotional)
Any comments?

RIN
Hi Bernard &Rin:
i will try to yse it practically in treating joint pain.
But i actually use it in cases of ulnar neuritis

Rin,
You can use either a reflex hammer, finger tips, finger pads, or hypothenar eminence. Make sure that your patient is comfortable. A reflex hammer can be a threat to a patient -- make sure that you ask them if your tapping is comfortable.
Tapping is fot only for joints, but for muscles and tendons as well. Use your knowledge of reciprocal inhibition/reflexive influence on untapped area.
For example, when you tap patellar tendon for L4 reflex test, what are you activating and inhibiting ispilaterally and contralaterally?

With the PRRT, is there more to the tapping? If this is all, it doesn't appear to require ordering the manuals or home study? Have others had experince with the actual treatment?

Welcome marosen on Somasimple board.
Can you explain, please, the abbreviation PRRT? It will give some sense to your words for foreign people?
Hi
Welcome Marosen to the forum :D
Bernard
i think the abbrevition PRRT  Pain Reflex Release Techniques
It is a very good topic ,and the discussion you have provided us in NOI
the problem is time and different topics ,we go out from topic to another we need time and ability 8)
cheers

Thanks, I like to investigate new "techniques" but often find that many are just deviations from those taught in various names and disciplines.

Hi marosen,
Somasimple explores new concepts about pain management and explores, too, old things. Some are certainly good and some will be lost in some days?
We are open-minded so we are pragmatic!
You can if you want, try the few exercises of the try it section and give your comments and criticizes!
Dialogue is also in the heart of science.
