I am hoping that someone may have some insight here. I am hoping to find a way to create a calendar with the ability to generate automatic email reminders to patients for appointment times. Mozilla Thunderbird/Lightning (Outlook clone) seems to have features that make this a possibility, but I cannot get it to send the emails correctly. Might anyone have insight into making this work or experience with another program that will do the same? I've gotten feedback from others that some of the online massage scheduling programs are able to do this, where you can simply use the automatic email portion without reverting to allowing patients to schedule themselves (a feature I do not wish to use).
Thanks in advance.
Walt
My first scheduling system had this, but I can't think of it's name for the life of me. I'll keep searching the memory banks.

Walt,
We just started using appointments plus in our NYC office. And it has the feature you want.
They are also looking into using text message reminders. In most cases, a simple phone call still works well.
A bigger and more elaborate system that does both (text and email) is demand force.
Good luck

Walt,
A decent practice management software package is you best bet. Good ones come with free phone support.

I've been using TimeCenter for the past month with good success. I disabled the ability for clients to schedule themselves and use the scheduling notification feature with automatic email generation 24 hours prior to the appointment time. It offers text notification, but chose not to activate. Cheap ($30/mo) if it reduces no-shows and I've placed my late cancellation charge policy in the body of the automatic email to assure compliance. Thanks for all of your responses.
