Ditto..
I may not particularly think Kerry is great and full of potential, but the idea of four years of Bush and Howard hugging each other is just too much to tolerate................... :x

Hi,
It will depend of Florida votes, once more? :mrgreen:
If it is the case then Democracy will lost!
I listened today that they need an army of lawyers to insure the straight application of vote! :?
Honestly, I expect that we will have another mess on our hands. Lawsuits, recounts, intimidation at the polls....that is my expectation, unfortunately.
I will be there to vote though.

Turned out to be Ohio this time. And a very disappointing result for sensible people all over the world as well as American sensible people. The (slim) majority seem to be all in favor of living in an empire. I just hope in 4 years they still have the right to vote.

BUSH won! It reflects the thoughts of the American people.
Hi Diane & Bernard;
No it was not Ohio, Kerry congratulated Bush last night , they have NOt to go courts ,this time like Florida in 2000.
Of course ,Diane your view is reasonable , but siginficant percenatge of Americans believe that Bush could bring them security and he is stronger .
Personally , i see Bush selection is reasonable because we live in a very crtitical period of history ,however along the whole history seems the stronger live longer and take more chances .
Another point,The difference between Kerry and Bush is not so large , they will both invade more countries .
Now , Bush will move on a stronger base to fight and go wars , i hope he use all times and chances for benefits of the Humanity , praticularly Weapons of Mass Destruction , Environment , and sutanible development as well as Peace all over hot areas of the world , sometimes peace could come by force , and more needy people all over the globe could be saved

With all due respect Emad, I found this map very humorous:
http://madison.indymedia.org/feature/display/19888
All the sensible, non war-mongering people could join forces and the ones who want to blow up the rest of the world would become more clearly delineated. It would also save the Democrats a lot of trouble moving to Canada, and fighting over a set supply of U-Haul trailers. They could stay living where they are and just change their nationality.

Diane,
Fine link but I'm amazed that so many people are so serious about the idea!
Hi Diane & Bernard;
First of all ,compare the map you gave above with the map in this link:http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/
Secodly , the idea og growing migration tendancy of Americans to Canada , yes it increased after this election , i saw a report on BBC world Service , since few days , support that idea among Americans , like what happen after and during Vitnem war .
So , as you see more Americans want to leave USA , because of Bush second term , I beleive this so strange as i surprised and shocked who ialready did elect him????

Emad,
The American elections are a strange thing to me. People of the US do not elect directly their president. They elect, in each state, persons who give, at their turn, their votes.
But you're true 51% of American people voted Bush, so...
Hi Bernard:
We can say 49 % of Americans want to immigrate to Canada , and the other 51 % will stay in USA to live under Bush second term .
cheers

The fact is, there wouldn't be room in Canada for all of the Democrats. Even just the ones in the Democrat states.
Canada has a population of 30 million. The US has a population of 300 million. The poplulation of Canada would suddenly increase by 150 million, which is 5 times larger than it is right now. There simply isn't room. Canada looks big on a map but most of it is uninhabitable. Or rather, "wild" and nice to visit, but not live in.
The solution posed by the map is funny, and would solve the problem of where to put all the new immigrants, but it won't happen. (It's just a joke, Emad...) And the 49 percent that are democrat are spread through all the states not just clumped into the ones where they managed to turn the whole state "blue"..
There are not bumperstickers that read, "I'm blue in a red state."
There is a Canadian website that deals with immigration questions by US citizens who want to come to Canada. There are usually around 5000 people a year that move here, probably the same number of Canadians become US citizens.. Anyway, the website handles around 15,000 hits a day. The day after the election it spiked to 120,000 hits. That's quite a large jump, but not 150 million.
I want the Democrats to stay in the US and do their jobs of keeping their crazy people under some sort of control so they can't rape, loot, pillage and blow up all the rest of the world.
