Hi, has anyone heard of, or experienced,

:sun: cranial osteopathy causing hallucinations or visual disturbances in the patient, in particular CV4?

Hi,

Try looking up "synesthesia."

I don't think these experiences, when they do occur, are unique to cranial osteopathy itself, or are more common when using the CV4 technique.

It may be useful if you can clarify the nature of the hallucinations or visual disturbances you are talking about. I often have patients tell me that they are seeing colours when I use very gentle techniques. As Cory has pointed out, synesthesia is the most likely explanation for this.

My patients have never told me about hallucinations, but I agree with Luke that some times patients tellme they are seeing colours when I used cranial technics.

singsong144@hotmail.co.uk, have some of your patients suffered hallucinations or visual disturbances or only one special patient?

I've had patients who "saw colors" with any part of the body treated, not just the head. I don't think it has anything to do with having their head treated necessarily. And I'll go with the synesthesia hypothesis.

Hi, two patients have claimed to see things during cranial treatment.
