Hmmnn.. don't know how I feel about being considered a "brother"... the gender neutral word in English is "sibling." In that I'm female, my inclusion into this august circle of brothers has messed up your forum title!

I change the title to siblings, guy

Haha!
Thanks Bernard... Although women are able to be "guys" after many years of slow semantic shift in English, from deep casual layers of speech upward to more refined layers (and its useage still isn't quite proper, but has become tolerable).. we are still excluded (on good grounds perhaps) from being "brothers." "Siblings" is a bit stuffy, but better than "brothers" for including women into the forum.
So thanks again.

I'm waiting for another word?
Living with five women (with the dog) at home let me a fervent feminist adept!
Fortunately, the two cut cats  , are on my side
Bernard
I laughed for quite a while about your two cut cats; that is a priceless phrase!
How about:
Colleagues (too stuffy?)
Amigos? (sounds more balanced than amis)
Amici?
Cronies?

Nari,
I take Amigos! It sounds great and universal!
Re- cats;
I'm pleased that you enjoyed the words.

Amigos is fine by me too.
Hasta la proxima,
Diane
Diane
Translate??
'See you next?'
Nari
Diane

Yes, Nari, it means 'until we meet again'... sort of leaves out the word "vez" as in "hasta la proxima vez", or 'until next time' ...(we meet..). (This forum can do so many things including spread language awareness!) Anyway, I used the phrase since we were deciding "amigos" was a good word that included women, all Spanish words ending in "o" include women... Women alone would be "amigas" .. gets a bit dizzying after awhile, so I'll just shut up..

hi Diane
Is that your clinic?
If it is, wow....I like it...
I want a clinic by myself, Diane...

Hi fapt,
I don't have the whole building. I co-lease an office within the building, and have my own treatment room. My office partner and I share the expenses including rent and reception.
It's great to have your own space to work in. Keep going and every place you work in, you can compare it to your own idea of how you'd like your own place to look, to feel like.
Cheers,
Diane
Hi Diane ;
I hope you are enjoying working there , sharing a place is more better than stayibg alone in private clinics , i feel sitting a lone in private clinic is boring , as me , listening to Radio , songs music ,,,, assessing patients , reading reading reading physio physio physio in English English English language , searching for new .
By the way , i write this post only for the last 2 posts , i have not read the whole topic , your place is nice , i remember that i visited your link since long time year or less , i can not remember .
cheers
Emad

I have made a new webpage (all by myself - bit of a learning curve actually).
I like the look quite a bit better. Let me know what you think.
Sherwood Physiotherapy (http://web.mac.com/diane_jacobs/Sherwood_Physiotherapy/Home.html).
I have yet to complete it - I'm busy with an external links page next. But it's going along ok, and it's good practice for taking on building a website for the new pain division (although we won't be using iWeb... ).
I feel like I'm light years past where I was 7 years ago when I couldn't even find an edit button.
Very nice work Diane. I like its simplicity.
Some suggestions for your external links page that might help the functionality of people finding your site:
Embed your blog within the site. Google, understandably, ranks their own blogs (blogger.com) very highly. For example, if you google your own name your blog profile will likely appear first.
Also, you may want to consider joining the many various internet based social networking sites (like linkedin.com and plaxo.com) where you can put your profile and links to your site and your blog. All will improve your page rankings and thus how easily people will find your site.

Great job Diane. You're an adult learner extraordinaire.

Thanks guys. I'm getting braver every year..
I added a research page, and an external links page - so far all it has on it are the two blogs.
I don't know if joining any networks is really necessary - networks seem to find the blogs, for better or (sometimes) for worse.

Great job Diane.
There is a minor "bug": We call it a cosmetic bug.
The background picture needs a optimization.
Here is a the picture but three times "lighter".

Thanks Bernard,
I don't really see the problem, but thanks for spotting it.. :)
(You have a deadly eye.)

I don't really see the problem
You can't see it once you have loaded the page a first time. The image is then in the memory of your computer.
A professional web site takes account of "loading times" and pictures are those who tell us: This site is great but the pictures aren't optimized for the web... Too bad. :embarasse

So, Bernard, if I take the picture you made, that you say is three times "lighter" and put it in instead, it will make the loading time shorter for people?
bernard

Yes.
Diane

All righty then. Thank you. :)

I changed the picture to the one you lightened up, Bernard.
Do you think it will load up faster now?
Merci beaucoup for all your techie knowhow. As always. :thumbs_up

I changed the picture to the one you lightened up, Bernard.
Do you think it will load up faster now?
The picture remains unchanged! Its properties shows 110 KB or mine is only 44. :embarasse

That is weird. I used the one you posted. (What the...?)
When I cropped it it was only 72 ppi... Should I make it more grainy?
I took it out for now.
bernard

When I cropped it
It may be not necessary and this process may enhance its weight.
