Found this presentation about ultrasound imaging the peripheral nerves by a dutch radiologist. I know the presentation is in dutch, but a lot of medical termes are being used. I'm happy to translate if necessary.

Nice slide show. I found out "volgende" is the magic word to click on to make the show proceed. :)

Nice picture of the elbow? opened up and a big ulnar? nerve showing, also like the picture of the tumor on the leg nerve. Maybe if it's not too much work, you could translate Line?

"Zenuw" is nerve
"Elleboog" is elbow
"kop" or "kopje" is capitus/head
"ontsteking" is infection/inflammation
On slide 7: "licht gebogen" means lightly curved and "vlakker" means straighter (in this case).

If you want me to, I can spend some time translating all of it, but it may help if you just ask which words are NOT contextually clear. Or maybe Line has a deep seated urge to translate the whole thing? Kiddin'....

Follow up by Bas' initiated mini course of dutch:

I would recommend a split screen:

dia 2 > image 2:
a normal nerve exists of a fascicelgroup (echoarm=probably darker image=english?) and surrounded by epineurium (echorijk=probably brighter image). The median nerve is ovally a bit hypoechogenous (echoarm) in contrast to flexortendons, no anisotropy

dia 3:
Indications for echografic assesment of peripherical nerves:
- compression or entrapment neuropathies
- traumatic nerve disorders
- tumors of peripheral nerves

dia 4:
pols > wrist
enkel > ankle

dia 6:
ontsteking > inflammation
spier > muscle
access (what could this be??) muscle

dia 7:
begrenzingen > boundaries

dia 8:
bevindingen > findings
verdikt/verdikking> thickened/thickening
kaliberwisseling > change of calibre
gemiddelde > average
structuur verandering > change of structure
verlies > loss
onscherp > blurred/blunt
verminderd > decreased
zenuw > nerve
pezen > tendons

dia 9:
klachten > complaints
onderzoek > assesment
onderliggende > underlying
aandoening > ailment/affection
behandeling > treatment
vervolg > follow up

dia 13
bdz > both sides

dia 14/16/17
handwortel > carpus

dia 15
vocht > fluid/liquid

dia 19:
diagnostics of postoperative complaints

dia 20/21:
insnoering > constriction
litteken > scar

Next images > tomorrow!

dia 22
loopt tussen > runs between
spier > muscle

dia 23
elleboog > elbow

dia 24
ulnar nerve is kept in place by ligamentum of Osborn
instability assesment at flexion and extension of arm, in supine position or sitting
review/assessment of aspect of nerve at extended elbow

dia 25
kenmerken als > characteristics as

dia 29
picture during operative release (of ulnar nerve)

dia 33
post traumatic deviations

dia 34
vinger > finger

dia 37
status post stitching median nerve after glass injury with neuroma
hechting > stitch

dia 39
stomp neuroma > blunt ? neuroma after removing part of nerve due to transplantation

dia 41
neurogenous tumors:
schwannoom accentric of nerve
neurofibroma has origin in central part of the nerve

dia 42/43: neurogenous tumor forearm

dia 44/45: neurogenous tumor upperarm

dia 47: morton neuroma: fusiform swelling of nerve, females > men, > 50 years of age, 3rd interdig space of foot, mostly both side and multiple

dia 48
normally intermetatarsal hyperechogenous lipids
with neuroma: interruption of hyperechogenous lipids
by pressing toes together the neuroma rises up
or transduce to plantair side of foot and press with finger from dorsal to plantair
in sagittal direction neuroma is fusiform (spoelvormig? > can you help with this Bas)

dia 51
vocht > liquid

dia 54
interdigital bursitis can look like mortons neuroma but doesn't have tapering

dia 55:
conclusion: echografy can help clinician with diagnostics of peripheral nerve impediments.
Thank you for your attention!

Thanks Line, for the translation services. My favorite so far is "elleboog". :)
It even sounds a bit like elbow.
