A nice summary.. and it says PT is recommended.
A question..what is "balneotherapy"?

Hi,

balneotherapy is using water (pool) for PT.

These are good guidelines, Bernard. I agree with all the statements on physical interventions.
What is the difference, then between balneotherapy and hydrotherapy?

(By the way, we have in Oz ceased the use of hydrotherapy because everyone and his dog says they 'do' hydrotherapy. We refer to aquatic physiotherapy which is a bit of a mouthful).

We use aquatic physiotherapy for persistent pain people, but it should be (I reckon) individualised as much as possible to 1:1. Group therapy does not work as well, and probably does not meet the needs of many ppps.

Hi Somasimplers,

What is the difference, then between balneotherapy and hydrotherapy?

Balneotherapy is equivalent to SPA (Sanitas Per Aquas) and it is, in my view containing hydrotherapy.

I do not use balneotherapy, but I was a PT in a Thermal town in Pyrenean mountains (army). As you said it, it is not really good to try to care 8 people at the time. But if you don't, you lose money! :?

Actually, hydro and balneo are on the top of health services, here
