Hi Bernard,

I feel like a luddite asking this question, but how do I edit my profile?

While I'm at it, how do I copy quotes within the highlighted boxes and insert hyperlinks?

Finally, how do I go about making a donation? This site is awesome. Thanks.

Nick, at the top of the site page there is a bunch of little brown headings. Pick the "User CP (http://www.somasimple.com/forums/usercp.php)" heading, top left. That will take you to your profile page, where you can change your profile all you like.

About making hyperlinks etc, when you decide to reply to a post, click on the "go advanced" button under the window. (You still have to click on "QR" first.)

Once on the advanced window, there are more options. At the bottom of the page you will find the previous posts. Highlight the text you want to quote, copy paste it into the reply box, highlight it again, and click on the little icon that looks like a thought bubble. Voilá, code will appear around your highlighted text, like this: [ quote ] [/quote] , which will disappear and instead provide a box around your text when you post it or preview it.

For hyperlinking, the icon with the little planet earth and a link symbol is supposed to do the trick. I don't use that, I usually type out the code instead, as Jon taught me.. as shown here, only with no spaces:
[url= your link's url address ] your text [ /url ]

It took me ages to learn this simple stuff, so don't feel bad. Good luck.

For hyperlinking, the icon with the little planet earth and a link symbol is supposed to do the trick. I don't use that, I usually type out the code instead, as Jon taught me.. as shown here, only with no spaces:
[url= your link's url address ] your text [ /url ]

That is a long solution but as you told us, the earth button works in the same way for lazy people.
Select a word/sentence then click on the button, then write the link in the dialog box and voila! :lightbulb
The button with a red cross next to the previous is able to remove a link. (in the same way)

About quoting

The quote button is useful when you want to cite a single poster and the multiple quote (next button with a ") let you select multiple messages for quoting.

just use the Donate (http://www.somasimple.com/forums/payments.php) link in the upper menu.

Emad a Dialog box is a little window that appears in front of the others and stays there until you click a OK or Cancel button.

Voila is a French word that means => that's it

Oh Bernard ; I do not know why hyperlinking is like manipulation needs tricks ......To the moment i do not know how to do it ...

Well , At last I can use the correct way to insert links through hyperlinking ...Just it needs to be explained well ...As I found it difficult to practise , I will try to clear it .

Imagine you are going to make link for example to my blog ...Take a copy of just words ( 1 or 2 or more .......any words from there ) then past them through the Post here ......choose them at the post ...then click on the Insert link above ( blue small earth ) ..A box will appears up ....then take a copy from the link of my blog address then past it within the Box and click OK ...You will find the words within the post be underlined ...and hyper,inked then post .

I choosed those words from my blog The Physio-Neuromodulation concept ..okay

then I past them here The Physio-Neuromodulation concept ...then choose them here on the post The Physio-Neuromodulation concept (http://neuromodulation.wordpress.com/)

then I clicked on the blue earth ....The box appeared ...I put within that box my blog address then click ok .
