Hi all;

When i google that vocublary ,most of the results are related to researches and experiments performed using electrical stimulation of the cortex , as if the concept we try to introduce of Nervous System Modulation via our suggesations does NOT exist .

At wiki ,here you are concerning NeuroModulation :

In neuroscience, Neuromodulation is the process in which several classes of neurotransmitters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurotransmitters) in the nervous system regulate diverse populations of neurons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurons). As opposed to direct synaptic transmission (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synapse) in which one presynaptic neuron directly influences a postsynaptic partner, neuromudulatory transmitters secreted by a small group of neurons diffuse through large areas of the nervous system, having an effect on multiple neurons. Some neuromodulatory transmitters are dopamine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dopamine), serotonin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serotonin), acetylcholine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acetylcholine), histamine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histamine) and others.
Neuromodulation also refers to a medical procedure used to alter nervous system function for relief of pain. It consists primarily of electrical stimulation, lesioning of specific regions of the nervous system, or infusion of substances into the cerebrospinal fluid. Electrical stimulation are devices such as Spinal Cord Stimulators (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spinal_Cord_Stimulator) (SCS) (surgically implanted) or Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulators (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcutaneous_Electrical_Nerve_Stimulator) (TENS) (external device).

Searching for neuromodulation in Hyperdictionnary gave no results .
Searching through English dictionneries for the Vocublary Modulate :

So We do NOT have clear meaning/concept for our NeuroModulation ! What does it mean for us ??

A defination by International Society for Neuromodulation ,mainly concerned with planting devices .
http://wip.neuromodulation.com/

What is neuromodulation?
Neuromodulation is defined as the therapeutic alteration of activity in the
central, peripheral or autonomic nervous systems, electrically or
pharmacologically, by means of implanted devices.
At the present time the devices used are mainly "stimulators" and "pumps" and
the major applications are in managing chronic pain, movement disorders,
spasticity, and epilepsy. Neuroprosthetics such as cochlear implants and
sacral root stimulators are commonly included.
Clinicians, scientists and industry are united in this growing, diverse
multidisciplinary field which delivers enormous benefit to patients by
improving function and reducing suffering.

That's why (with Jane's tweaking) the term for eliciting changes via the patient's brain itself has had the prefix "dermo" added, i.e., dermoneuromodulation.

Life is lonely when a concept is new and there is not much on google yet.

Seem still early to have clear defination /meaning for our paradigm of neuromodulation ,however we do oriented by the plenty of neuroscience knowledge ,researches !

I like that defination of the Word Modulate :

to pass gradually from one state to another
Diane, who is Jane ?

How soon you forget Emad.
Here's the thread, Skin Rules!! (http://www.somasimple.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2686&page=2), see post #76. Jane S. is the member who suggested DMN, dermo-neuro-modulation.

Oh ,oh Jane was explaining my view/suggesation at post 67 , just i thought another new Jane !!So i have good memory !!!!!!!!!;)
Good chance , Off-thread side point ,From our knowledge regarding CNS ,can we improve memory capability ! Interesting stuff for me , i will try to find new views .
