This comprehensive document from the UK Pain Society is jargon free and explains simply different types of pain and the effect that pain may have on an individual. It is a simple starting point and gives people options regarding the merits of choosing one approach over another . I did not agree with the comments relating to Chiropractic!

I must agree. The "scientific" comment about chiro is totally pseudo-scientific!

A very comprehensive site for those unfortunate people with very complex centralised and neuropathic pain condtions . There is some good information but be careful who you recommend it to regarding diagnosis - you don't want to enhance any thought viruses ....

This is a Canadian Hospital information site for Professionals and Patients interested or suffering from Chronic Pain . The information sounds sane, well balanced and a mixture of biomedical and more 'holistic' . There is information regarding reading material ,leaflets, information and recommendations.

This is a simple and appropriate support service easily accessible and relevant for use in the dept . Jan Sadler a chronic pain sufferer herself is the organiser of the site and her book Natural Pain relief is very accessible (available in the libraries in Forth Valley).There are sections on pacing ,relaxation , exercise etc etc.
