CBC is airing a three-part series (http://www.cbc.ca/national/news/chandra/) regarding this individual, Ranjit Chandra, who used to work at Memorial University in Newfoundland as an immunologist and faked a lot of research (http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=Ranjit+Chandra&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&btnG=Search) about vitamins and nutrition. Warning: Don't believe anything you read by this guy. He faked his research. He invested what he earned in a vitamin company, which he lives from now that he's no longer with the university.
This is a cautionary tale about corruption nestled happily within acadaeme, and how a lone nurse became a whistle blower. It behooves us all to remain alert to this stuff; it can happen anywhere anytime. A good chunk of society is comprised of sociopaths with no sense of right/wrong.
