Not bad references, emad, but the focus on "injury" to the nerve is misleading.
CRPS 1 and 2, to my knowledge, can result from a simple sprain (not a rank pathology) where the repair mechanism goes haywire and the brain perceives a threat when there isn't one. Remember that pain and injury do not go together always: they can occur separately. But many people including PTs, think that pain=injury and vice versa.
Read Ramachandran's views on CRPS, plus other work done on this condition.
A PubMed search may be more useful.

Hi Emad,
Check out the work of Ralf Baron and Wilfrid Janig. The have an interesting article titles "Complex regional pain syndromes-how do we escape the diagnostic trap?" It appears in Lancet, vol. 364 Nov 13 2004.
In it they state
The diagnosis of CRPS is mainly based on clinical criteria because there is no gold standard to compare with and no objective diagnostic test. Therefore it is difficult to distinguish CRPS from other extremity pain syndromes. The Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment published by the American Medical Association tried to link findings that can be identified during a standard physical examination with radiological techniques to reach a diagnosis of CRPS. Eight of such criteria are necessary for the diagnosis of probable CRPS. However, this scale has so far not been validated.
They then go on to explore these criteria and end up with a "clinical use" and a "research use" for naming the presentation of symptoms as CRPS.
They do not go into different types in this article so I'm a bit off target with your question but it's what I had.
hi jon &Nari ;
I will try to search for those 2 researchers you mentioned .
let you give a look how stil health care system deal with those CRPS patients ,,,http://shsskip.swan.ac.uk/Information/Physiotherapy.htm
this is the physio they still use in uk to address CRPS .
Nari ;
Regarding , pain and injury , you are quite right concerning the 2 isssues are not equal , but do you think there is pain existance without injury ? can you find an example .

If you mean by injury, there is physical damage done to a structure, then that is one thing. Chemical nociception,such as occurs with chronic pain, I would not class as an injury.
