Hi all

If any of you can get hold of a booklet put out by Astrazeneca called:
"Pathophysiology of Pain" it is well worth keeping a copy. It is a bit too technical for patients, but excellent for us.

The company is USA/Swedish, is international with a strong European focus, and specialises in lots of areas such as anaesthesia. The book is given out by drug reps at seminars and conferences; and has recently been updated.

Very good diagrams of DH activity and lots on the a and c-fibres.

Rin may well be aware of it.

PS the fact my daughter is working as a doctor with them has nothing to do with it!! :D

Nari,

I took a look at the site but missed to find a brochure. Is there any clue on the paper, please?

Sorry Bernard - the book is not online, it seems to be given out at conferences and seminars for doctors.

I am not sure how you can get hold of a copy - maybe Rin can help? as the company is strong in Scandinavia.

Or, I guess it would be worth trying to contact them for a copy - they can only say no.

Maybe they have a branch in France.

If all else fails, I can send you a copy by snail mail if I have your address.

Nari,

It would be less expensive to find out a scanner and quicker!

You scan the whole document 300dpi and send it by email to me?

Aaaaaaaaargh!

Bernard - you ask me to do things I do not have any idea how to do!!

However, I will try to work it out, probably over the next few days.

All around the world, it seems that women beings are annoyed with technique and manuals!

But I confess that Men beings had made them.

This little book is quite small and when I scanned a page and then enlarged it, it became quite difficult to read- text is backgrounded by graphics. It may be intended, so people cannot copy it at random!

I don't think it would be legible if I sent it on.
Sorry.

I missed your post. No matter, I'll try to contact the company to get a brochure and see what i can make with it!
