View Full Version : Muscle tension and its Strength
Hi All:
Do you think that tensioned muscles (contracted muscle tension ) from overuse only occurs in muscles which are strong . i mean flappy muscles like abdominal muscles ,we can not concluded are tensioned because they are weak and flappy.
what evokes that question :
in the red light reflex the abdominal muscles are tensioned, do you think this is true even if the muscles are weak.
cheers

Hi Emad,
Your question raises a couple ideas,
1. What does 'strong' versus 'weak' really mean?
2. What does 'tight' versus 'flappy' (did you mean to say, 'flabby'?) really mean?
I think a muscle that is weak can also be tight and a muscle that is strong can also be flabby.. that's just to mix it up some more!

Emad,
You can see the posture =>

it is true even the muscles are weak but in that case the belly is of course more "visible" => bended forward!
Diane,
You complicate the game, here!
Hi Emad,
I agree that a tensioned muscle can be weak and a flappy muscle can be strong.
The red light reflex seems to also involve resting muscle tone...I think a high tone muscle can be weak and a low tone muscle can be strong also.

Hi Diane ,Bernard &Cory:
bernard thanks for the lik.
Diane
what i mean yes , flabby means so weak that reaching the level of belly abdomen.
weak(flabby) could be  tensioned/tight
strong could be  non-tight/non-tensioned
that what you meant :?:
Strong
yes, i think it is clear there are muscles which has a high muscle power at the same time are relaxed .
Weak
why the weak muscle will be tensioned , it is already has a relaxed state .
cheers
emad
