View Full Version : Thinking/emotions
Hi Rin
What I think she is saying is that the cause of illness is nothing to do with our way of thinking, BUT our way of thinking may have a great deal to do with the healing process of the illness/injury.
Which goes against the theory that some people 'talk' themselves into illness, and also those who experience great emotional/physical stress and go on to develop illness eg MS.
Diane may be able to clarify further.

I think when she speaks of illness, she means pathological illness as per the medical model. I think she's right, that within that model (presuming that's what she means) if you get sick it's due to a microorganism invading your body or a genetic conspiracy to ruin one or more organs or an environmental push over the edge (note she talks a lot about psuedo-estrogens in plastics messing up the endocrine system.)
I doubt she's talking about pain states or brain states at all, the ideation of illness, e,g,: people convincing themselves they have a disc this or a torn that...
She says that being positive helps people climb out of 'illness'. I think that she is backed by research on that, that the immune system works better when people are fully involved in imaging wellness, etc, for cancer states and so on. That's my take anyway. Anyone else?

i try to read the articles Bernard proveded us on Sund Silence .
i think emotions strongly related to frebrain centers contain inhibitory and facilitatory centers .
emtions affect directly the endocrine system which affect directly tha physical factors .
Regarding the way of thinking , i do not know what that AUHOR meant , but i think it is extremly affect the management process.
