(Bernard, you will probably want to move this, but I could not find where Diane had posted her references on glia. I get quite lost trying to find things again in the forums - must be early Alzheimer's)

Ah, yes, but with one neat sharp claw and high precision, it can be much more accurate than a stubby finger!!

Here is Greg Laden's blog post on glia (http://scienceblogs.com/gregladen/2007/11/nature_neuroscience_focus_on_g.php), from today, Nov 9. Really good, long informative post. He mentions neuropathic pain.
