It is our pleasure to inform you that the 3rd State of the Art in Chronic Low Back Pain Symposium will take place from 9 to 12 April 2006 in Bodrum (southwest coast of Turkey). The success of the 2nd symposium made the ErasmusMC and VitalMed Bodrum decide to continue with this multidisciplinary approach to low back pain, thus inviting colleagues from surgery and physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as company doctors, medical advisors of insurance companies, therapists and all other health care professionals interested in the topic of low back pain to attend. You are furthermore cordially invited to present and discuss your personal opinions, research and experiences on the cause and treatment of chronic low back pain during the symposium.

The following associations have been requested to accredit this event: The European Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR), the Dutch Association of PMR, the Turkish Association of Medical Doctors, the Dutch association of company doctors and the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education EACCME®.

Shortly, we will inform you about confirmed speakers and the subjects of their lectures. In the meantime we advise you to visit our website www.vitalmedbodrum.com (http://www.vitalmedbodrum.com/) or contact us at vitalmed@vitalmedbodrum.com.

Sounds interesting - but Turkey is not on my list of priorities...
I am hoping to make it to Iceland next year. :D

A tiger in Iceland? Ah yes, a Siberian tiger (http://website.lineone.net/%7Epolar.publishing/theamurtigerinsiberia.htm)! ;)

That's some feat, Bernard, for a Siberian tiger to end up in Iceland...loooong way to swim.

However it could be a good idea...but she/he might eat the puffins...

Someday I'll need an excuse to visit some lovely place like Turkey and lounge in a hot spring for awhile. I hope sometime in the future (when I have more inclination to travel) there will be another interesting sounding symposium.

Here's a thought: Maybe the reason, even with all the collective brain power of humanity, even with 6 billion minds all simultaneously gamma coherent and focused on a single problem, maybe the reason no one can or will ever sucessfully figure out low back pain, is because if for once the mystery were ever cleared, the number of symposiums/ chances to teach and lecture/ opportunities and excuses to travel would drop drastically and an entire industry would collapse. (OK.. I'm being terribly cheeky here.)
