View Full Version : The accomodation role in chronic pain
Hi Bernard:
Yes ;i think this is practical true ,pain can be accomadiated with.Sometime the brain will found more disturbance , from other inputs , or psychsocial factors , thus could lead to forgetting .
But , i think the wjole issue is dependant on the the patient understanding/meaning of his problem , and yellow flags such as occupation , thus could prolong the issue .
Sometimes , there are persons who have no thing to give attention except that pain , thus may prolong also.
Some persons are highly sensitive , fear of anything even slight pains, so they will insist to think of pain .

Hi folks,
I have read that the cortex reorganizes and is capable of plastic change, especially in somatosensory cortex. This change and reorganization increase with chronicity of pain and amount of pain, creating pain memories influencing the process of sensory information and motor control.
In addition to the accomodation nature, this change in the information processing might be big. And awareness (intention to focus) through movement comes into play in impacting pain behavior and motor behavior as well as sensory input.
Hi bernard;
Chronicty because the brain has not (is not) puting that site (problem ) as priority , so the issue became chronic .
or because the brain is not currently recieve input from that problem??!!
as the brain is not consider that issue as a problem.
SO THE QUESTION : How do you think the body (person) can conclude that his problem is over ?
Is that because the pain disappeared / because the brain conclude that ?
Does the Brain take deicions while we do not know ( while we are on the subconsciuos level)?
cheers

Long-lasting familiar sensory input maybe registered only to the level of subconscious brain.
Bernard, is forgotten or ignored sensory input any useful for pain management? Or do we have to create some new sensory information for the clients?
I like to train people to increase movement experience and possibilities, so that they are prepared for any type of movement pattern and their body does not get surprised or injured when some unsual things happen.
Most of us choose habitual movement patterns and physical activity as we aged. I think that it is contibuting to epidemics of many musculoskeletal disorders.
Bernard:
Sometimes i feel /think that the problem is only misunderstanding of the patient ,i mean the the importance /the seriousness of the problem, sometime the patient have the understnding that his problemis so serious /bad/complex to be approached/solved/addressed ,particularly, if the problem is chronic affecting his social,work......
EXAMPLE:
when i ,you ,any health provider has neck pain in the morning one day ,it is uasual for us no more than uasual pain which we meet every day ,we negelct the issue ,it disappers with time.
I think there are a lot a lot of peoples have health problems ,like pain....
NOT all those go to health providers, some of them, and some of those last become chronic.
I mean here the thing we know , we do not afraid of it ,even it is bad,the thing we experinced before is usual regardless of its seriuosness ,and its dangerness , take example when we travel for the first time to a place we feel afraid ,then the issue is usual.
ALSO
why people afraid of death(ME) ,thus an issue we do not know about,we have not try/expereince before, i think if the human being die two times ,the first trial will be bad , the second will be easy.
SO ,pain if we tried to assure the patient /prove /reason/speak with/discuss his belifs/his understanding ,that will prevent /control the issue from being chronic .
I mamight go away

Hi Emad,
You are totally right on your thoughts but I said earlier, this topic was intended to show the troubleshooting in the perfect machinery of brain. The problems you reached come in parallel with that one.
Hi Bernard:
You are right , i have gone out of the track!
We are trynig to discuss the role of the brain(neuromatrix) in chronicity!
cheers
