View Full Version : Insurance companies !!
Hi all ;
Currently ,and comingly, seems our approach as physios will include ,endorse education ,teaching , brain training methods which are in the form of patient -therapist discussion .
Do you think patients should pay money for just the above mentioned protocals ??
Do you think insurance companies will endorse ??
The m,ain /key point of my topic is insurance companies!! yes ,most of us work in private sectors ,not in hospitals :money:

Emad
emad,
I don't know about insurance companies in your country - but if they demand traditional things like exercise and mobilisation, you can still do the education and neuromodulatory techniques as well?
How much freedom do you have in choosing the treatment you wish to do?
Nari
they pay only for ultrasound, infra-red,shortwave therapies.
All over the world are there any insurance companies endorse paying for the patient education ?

I doubt it Emad. Too undefinable,. Insurance companies like to draw definable boundaries around what they will pay for. As a result they don't pay for much that's valuable by our standards. Remember insurance companies exist to perpetuate themselves, same as any other creature or human organization.

Hi all,
In France, we must, prior any treatment, measure the patient and propose a protocol based upon recommendations from insurances and medical dictatorship. I'm definetely an outlaw but I'll assume it .
hi Diane & Bernard :
Absouletly right !
I think companies agree with their customers" desires .So that if patients belive in recieving physio in the form of a session of just explaining pain /mental traing session , i think the companies will endorse .
The issue is so vague .

pt represent 1.7% of the general budget.. we do respect our objectives
someone told me on some other french forum that he could make great result on old lombalgic people ;) even if he is an outlaw... that's a good think. the recommandation are based on a concensus (not sure the words means anything in english) and even a concensus is not always the truth.. no one could blame you if you have good result based on scientifical idea
maybe one day we will have personnal evaluation... just like medecine doctor have today, and what? you have good result on the way you do your job... no problem..
you have 2/3/4 people at the same time and just take their money then i hope you will be in trouble..
the only think that could not help the pt in france is that we do not make enough serious studies on our job.
this huge loss you are talkin about isn't due to the reason we are talkin about... ;)

just like medecine doctor have today
Do you think that they are evaluated in France?
Some of their strange behaviours about antibiotics and NSAIDS but that's all.
They are told to apply protocols that reduct health costs. But I'm not sure that our health will be better! :D
