Hi all members :

Those days I spend much time watching TV news ,on CNN ,BBC ,Euronews.....

I feel the nature is hitting with its heavy hand here and there , no mercy at all ,,,,The nature had made this year 2005 , the most miserable year ,it begun with Tsounamia in Asia , to storms there in poor USA areas , to the last earthqua in that needy area , i feel so sorry for those people there , they spend their lives for decades escaping from war between India and Pakistan ,to trapped within choas of semantic walls ,however i do not like so much the culture there ,but my humanity feeling forced me to write regarding trabbed schools over kids there , ending with feet coming out of the buildings through TV cameras to make us feel the miserable situation there .

They gonna from our world ,where we feel sorrow for their unlucky end ,no one knows , may be they are happy there , i do not know what there ,but the possiblioty of more better life is applicable.however , i am sure they gonna in a very painful manner , under those heavy biuldings .

Coorupation , no doubt ,helped to make the number of deed people extremley high ,yes ,the corrupation make it easy to bulid these buildings more liable for collapsing.
I think there is an indian member here in somasimple ,who can write honestly ...

Corrupation , will take the aid ,the money , even the blankets taken ,can not reach those who are in real need ...................

Any way , the nature is going on to applying its strategy of ending lives of needy people on the earth , may be it is right .I hope there is no corrupation there ,,, iam sure if not ,,,, they will feel more fine ,,,relax ,,,

In conclusion , all my sorrows feeling to all people there !!

I wondered Emad, as I watched the news the last few days, many of the same things you have mentioned. I thought of you too actually, wondering how you were going to cope with even more bad weather/cataclysm news.

I add my condolences to yours.

I don't know if it made world news: A mudslide from a volcano in Guatemala buried an entire village and all the people who lived there, just a few days ago. I expect this news was eclipsed by the earthquake news.

Actually, in Australia, we had good coverage of the Guatemala and El Salvador disasters with flooding.

It's a tough world, emad, and always has been. One of the differences is that we get to hear and see disasters. A century ago, hundreds of thousands of Chinese were killed by earthquakes in a single day; but it is not remembered by many. Our Global village makes disasters all that more real and concerning.

It is not a particularly benign world, and never has been. But it is the only one we have.

Good point Nari, about the coverage of events being better, not necessarily that the disasters are worse.

Hi Nari & Diane :

yes, the media is misusing us , using our emotional aspect so critically , because the culture after Europe in the direction of east is strange ,people are easy manipulted , however , seems there in west people are maniplualted too by the globilization and politics .

Humanity has to pay ,it is a matter of time ,man paid for freedom in Europe in past years ,they got freed from culture and religion which is the main prison of the human being soul,in my view .

By the way , i am so farway from that area south Asia ,Nari more near than me ,as well , i see news from English-speaking channels ,however our Media here in our language is extremely strange and aggressive in misusing humans emotions.

Today ,i saw a hand coming out from a fallen building in pakistan .

Emad,

Earthquakes, Tsunami are the food of mass media. They are unable to promote well being or hapinness, thinking that is not interesting.

Man is destructing the planete and we have no real planned future for our children. It is weird since we are intelligent but use it to understand that the planet is very little in fact.

Some days, I'm thinking of a better harmony and thinking also to the Gaia concept. We are changing Earth but its reacts to our changes to find a newer balance: killing more people... Man is perhaps creating his end?

Right Bernard,,,,

yes,you are right .

But , seems ,unfair that few of humans had and are using that planet resources to their personal benefits in limited circumstances . unfortunatly ,all have to pay/tolerate.

Actually , i do not know what is Gaia Concept .

Emad, google James Lovelock. He's the originator of the Gaia concept. Essentially it's that the earth is alive and the biosphere is a "shell" around the planet about 30 miles thick (I think that's the figure) extending up into the atmosphere and down below the surface. The ocean is counted. It's only in the shell that life is possible, but it is tightly woven/ interdependent and very very tough. Lynn Margulis goes on to assert that single cell life is the most creative in terms of being responsive to change and able to evolve new strategies for survival when cataclysmic change occurs. (She's Dorion Sagan's mom.)

Emad,

It is true. 3% of people are owning 97% of all the Richness. They are far from the common sense and human goodness. They have definetely forgotten that they have children and these children will own an Earth of storm and sand.

About Gaia,

Ten years ago, scientists told us that C02 will grow quickly and that Earth was unable to recycle it. Few years later, they were amazed that seas and oceans recycle more than 40% of carbon dioxide. Simply amazing? or just a souvenir?

Some years ago, too, some biologists were alarmed with the colour change of coral in very large areas. They suspected its future death. But it's still there but modified enormously the climate of planet. Adaptation? Equilibrium and Harmony.

Man needs to understand these great values. :lightbulb
