Hi guys - I've been going to the physio for about 7-8 weeks.
I've got mild Patello Femoral Syndrome and have been going to the physio 1-2 times a week for manipulative therapy.
From strapping, I have no pain while running, but I know the problem is far from fixed.
Is there a need for me to be visiting the physio this regularly?

Hello Broady an welcome,
It is a bit difficult to reply so straightly to your asking since a "mid patellar syndrome" is an "indeterminate" problem.
1/ Often it involves a cartilage erosion and such "illness" needs a minimal "rest" time of 3/4 weeks.
2/ You may be more precise with the "manipulative" term.
but I know the problem is far from fixed.
Why are you thinking that the problem isn't yet fixed? If you experience pain, you may be more precise since we must know the conditions its appearance.
3/ If sport is made too fast (before a complete recovery), the problem has chance to become chronic.
Please could you give us more precisions?

Nice thnig to do Bernard :)
broady,
Apart from things asked by Bernard, could you be more descriptive about your self? Your sex, age, body weight and are you a sportsperson?
And a your condition? How long you have benn suffering from it? Pain duration etc.

Hi guys - thanks for the replies.
I'm a 16 yo male, body weight, around 70 kg, I play hockey at relatively high levels maybe 6 hours a week on season.
Early this season (May?) I began to get pain near my knees.
My coach is studying physio at uni, so he strapped me and that alleviated pain for a long time, until it got more serious (I think around the same times as I got flu)
I've been off sport for about the duration I've been treated (7-8 weeks now).
At the physio, a few things happen
She assesses how my knee is tracking, then sees whether ITB/hammies/quads are tight, etc. and might do a small massage.
Then does a few exercises with bio-feedback to see whether I am using the inner quad muscle (?).
I'm still getting pain, which is why I said that I think it's far from fixed.
I have strapping on almost all the time - i.e. for walking etc, but it has also started to get better recently.
Also - have just got foot orthodics (the shoe linings), and I wear these whenever I wear shoes.
Last time, I had a video taken that showed the way I was running, it wasn't too pretty, but not too bad... The foot orthodics helped.
Hope these answers are good enough?
Ta
Chris.

Sorry Chris,
I'm making a small digest of your medical story:
Knees began to hurt in May (around? inernal/external?)
Strapped with good results on pain (location of straps?)
But pain reappeared again!
Does physio help you? (pain, walking, running?)
When did you were adviced and why for foots "orthodics"?
Running isn't really good! What is the problem?
I begin to see your condition but need some more clues.;)
